Privacy policy

Your library stays on your device.

Effective September 15, 2026

Craft Library is designed to work without an account, cloud service, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Your patterns, project details, yarn records, customer records, photos, annotations, preferences, and backups are stored on your device or in a location you choose.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the content you add, including PDFs, images, notes, counters, project and yarn details, customer records, and app preferences. Deleting content in the app removes it from the app’s storage subject to normal device and backup behavior. Deleting the app removes its local container. Files you exported or shared remain wherever you saved them.

Permissions and Apple services

Craft Library asks for Photos, camera, Calendar, or Reminders access only when you choose a feature that needs it. Photo and label text recognition runs on device. Calendar events and reminders are created through Apple’s system frameworks after you approve access. The app can also import and export files through Apple’s document picker and receive PDFs through its share extension.

Optional product-page lookup

If you explicitly request a yarn product lookup, the app downloads the public HTTPS page you entered to suggest editable yarn details. The website and your network provider may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address. Craft Library Studio does not operate a proxy for this request and does not receive or retain the lookup.

Feedback and support

If you choose Send feedback, Craft Library prepares an email in Apple Mail. You can review, change, or cancel it before sending. A sent message can include your email address, support text, app version, iOS version, device model, and an optional screenshot. Craft Library Studio uses this information only to answer the request, troubleshoot the app, and improve reliability. It is not used for advertising or tracking and is not sold. Support email is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and maintain an appropriate support record. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence.

Sharing and disclosure

The app does not send your library to Craft Library Studio. Information leaves the app only when you choose an action such as exporting a backup, sharing a file, creating an Apple calendar item or reminder, requesting a product lookup, or sending support email. Those actions are also governed by the privacy terms of the service or recipient you choose.

Security and changes

Craft Library relies on iOS app sandboxing and device protections for local data. No storage system is risk-free, so keep device security enabled and store exported backups carefully. If this policy changes, the updated date and text will be posted here. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its release notes where appropriate.
